The population sizes may be different, but not everyone in the US plays GW, and I'm betting population wise, the servers are about even, except for maybe Europe.

I love how people assume Korea is better are pvp...
Their PUGs are better, but against a well organized American team they're no better.
The only difference is that their PUGs understand team work...

I'm betting the servers are definitely not even. I'm even willing to bet that there is a much larger proportion of Koreans, etc. who play compared to either Europeans or Panamericans. Video games are serious business over there. You can get on TV and make phat bank if you're good. I thought everyone knew this.

Seperate every country in europe and you have a lot of servers, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and The United Kingdom.
Bad Idea?
I prefer the idea of merging Asia, not their servers, just their Favour region, so they are seperate, but all play for "Asian" favour.

America kills ourselves with using IWAY 24/7. Honestly you cant find non-iway. It may work anywhere BUT HoH and thats why Europe has had favor so often. (not knocking down your skill level Europe)

LoL, Europe owns favor most of the day anyways, Asia getting favor wouldn't be such a problem would it?

I think an combined Asian server might actually help to reinforce better relationship between the Asian countries. They will start looking at each other as teammates instead of past enemies.
If you get separate Asian servers, I think it will only increase the intensity of the conflict since they will be fighting each other just like the old days.
I grew up in Hong Kong so we are pretty neutral... but I heard in mainland China kids were taught to hate Taiwanese and Japanese. Taiwanese are also taught to hate mainland Chinese. Korean also dislike the Japanese. Japanese weren't really taught what happened in the past so they have no idea why everyone hates them. Ya and thats just sounds like one big mess...
why not try to bring them all together through a game?

on the other hand, having multiple territories prevents asia from taking HoH easily. Flavorfully, I agree, but I couldnt care less if they were seperate servers

This whole segregating and/or merging servers topic has sprouted some unnecessary debating in my opinion.
Anet is a business after all. So they make their decisions accordingly. Having separate asian servers is more of a marketing issue than anything else, I'm guessing.
Other countries might have different payment methods based on their demographic. So their servers might be setup slightly differently. Merging all the asian countries together that uses different methods will cause conflict.
A smart choice would be to separate them, less confusion, more organization. Results in a more efficient running business. That's what I think.
Besides, I have no problem with how things are now anyway.

Just to put my ha'pen w'th in from the European server (and please note the use of what I felt was an appropriate old-fashioned Anglicism there)....
I'm from the UK, but my guild includes people from several European countries- Holland, Romania, Sweden, Germany, Finland and others. My friends list contains people from at least a few more.
PvE on the Euro servers has meant some great meetings, some laugh my ass off attempts at comunicating with each other and some great times.
I would always vote for keeping the Euro server as it is, so I can keep meeting fun people from countries where, even if I never get to go there, at least I know now what music they like
